Mark very recently became the proud owner of a Stefan Sobell mandolin. He also plays an Alphonso bodhran, and a ceramic doumbek.

Mark's bodhran, a traditional goatskin frame drum, was hand made by Albert Alphonso.
The correct pronunciation of bodhran is BOW-rahn; bow rhymes with cow and the emphasis is on the first syllable. For those interested in suggestions on how best to mike a bodhran for stage performance, click here. |
