Susan Cross Gilligan - Fiddle

Susan has been playing fiddle since she was 9.  At first classically trained, she dabbled in rock, bluegrass and old time before discovering Irish. A founding member of Silver Arm, with whom she played for 12 years, she has been in Dark Moll for the last 5 years. Susan was a science and French teacher for 30 years.

She is the founder of the Riley School of Irish Music, and in 2003 Susan was elected to the Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann Midwest Regional Hall of Fame.

Traditional Irish music in Cincinnati

Five friends from Cincinnati's RILEY SCHOOL OF IRISH MUSIC have joined forces to perform traditional Irish music. Founding member and guitarist Susan Monroe is joined by Tim Clarke on concertina, Dave Gilligan on harmonica,guitar and vocals, Susan Cross Gilligan on fiddle and vocals and Geoff Maher on fiddle,banjo and tenor guitar. DARK MOLL have performed in the greater Cincinnati area for 15 years and are available for weddings, festivals and special occasions.
